An open Letter to the
People of America
regarding its debt to Ireland
A message from Liberaladvocate.org to the United
States Senate / House
of Representatives (sent as a two page facsimile)
(Sent to 6000+ US Legislators +2000 Euro Leaders (MPs etc) abroad
According to Wikipedia material available to all on
the Internet, the following comments
about Ireland's economy stand out:
1) A study by The Economist found Ireland to have the best quality of life in
the world
(nice people - comment added)
2) Ireland now has the highest level of household debt relative to disposable
income in the
developed world at 190 percent!
3) Ireland has been in recession since second quarter of 2008 and some
commentators have
claimed it is in a depression
4) Ireland has the world's highest gross external debt at 811% of GDP
For the people of America, there is no doubt that
there is a real benefit in promoting the
welfare and interests of the people
of Ireland, the home from where the significant numbers
of Americans
have originally come. You will never have a benefit to your sense of self worth,
the wellness of your spirit and the calmness
of your soul in peace as long as you have wealth
to waste
on extravagant wars and foreign aid while neglecting your own.
That is not to say that Ireland cannot be equipped
to better serve its needs domestically,
rather it is in the need for
investment
by American firms in areas of high tech (such as Intel's
investment of
billions in recent years) and capacity to produce in all
areas that the combination
of natural resource base and human resource base
can be enabled to do - it is in investment of
this
nature that America cannot neglect its own. Ireland has the best supply of
people to deal
with for Americans seeking plant expansion,
and Euro based production especially. It is a great
partnership to invest in
shared ownership ventures with the people of Ireland or
to simply make
loans easily enough available to help see this through. What
are the folks in Washington flushing
down a drain in
Afghanistan and Iraq right at this very minute? What about foreign aid to
third
world countries - what does that get you if anything
but waste and a perpetuity of estranged
dependency.
WHY BUILD ANYTHING ELSEWHERE THAT COULD BE MADE HERE INSTEAD!
How often has America forgiven debt to countries
that are not its own. Why not do so for Ireland
and tell your kids you did it
for
the blessings that are sure to come as you know in your hearts that
nothing
else will ever give you that same feeling.
The people of Ireland don't need huge nuclear stockpiles to make them a great
nation. They have
the Christianly leadership of the
entire globe in de-facto terms as they are that dear
and beautiful in spirit.
That's where you should focus on investment and in
philanthropy and in making whatever gestures
having an overabundance of
monetary
resources can allow you to do easily enough. America could
write off
Ireland's entire debt and simply think of it as switching pockets rather
than a waste to
strangers as it were. Whatever beauty there is in America is
owed to the start that was given in
Ireland before y'all sailed off
to start a large colony of your own, given the huge amount of land
available
to you in fact.
If you've made good, why not show it where it counts
- why not send something back home to say
you're grateful and that you have
remained
as good to those that are your own spirit as they are
to the rest of us all
that seek real goodness for our guide in matters of Christianly goodness
as the truth is that Ireland has single handedly been the source of this
wisdom, this beacon of
light to all the peoples of European descent as none
have made it to match their level of good in
what counts most - what it is
that is in their hearts towards you that are their own - and deservedly
too - I might add.
BUY IRISH products including Irish cream at least
once a week - and travel at least once a year
back home to Dublin - you'll
never have as
a great joy that going anywhere else, if you just get up
to the challange of
bein at your best, I assure u!
Do it for your own sake, thats all I ask - the very
next opportunity you have, a decision to
make in this regard.
